Jamie Hamilton is the founder and owner of Cutthroat J’s traditional barber shop. He had the concept of Cutthroat J’s for a number of years, he wanted a comfortable relaxed atmosphere where customers could have their hair cut by barbers that have a passion for their profession. In December 2016 Jamie did just that by opening Cutthroat J’s Traditional Barbers in the heart of the Hillhouse community in Hamilton.
Jamie began his barbering career at the age of 16 and since then has learned his profession by working in several barbers across Glasgow and Lanarkshire and finally opening Cutthroat J’s.
Due to his passion and reputation Jamie is constantly sought after to appear at barbering events. These events may be educational barbering events where barbers from around the country learn from each other, pick up new techniques or share techniques. They may also be charity events which Cutthroat J’s are happy to donate to. He is also a regular contributor to barbering magazine, Barber NV.
His signature is finishing off his haircuts with a traditional ‘cutthroat’ razor.
A simple, yet direct ethos of “Keeping It Traditional” says it all about Cutthroat J’s and Jamie Hamilton.
After leaving school, Dawn worked in several hair styling salons in Lanarkshire and Glasgow. During this time, she found herself more interested in barbering than ladies hairdressing. Moving away from salon work Dawn soon learned the skill of barbering and was high sought after. Due to this high demand and a personal wish to learn all she could, Dawn worked with some of the top Barbers in Glasgow and surrounding areas and is now a great asset to Cutthroat J’s.
